2010-03-19 | Prices of red apples
This week trading companies are much interested in purchasing apples of red varieties such as Gloster, Jonagored, Shampion, Elise and Alwa, but only in large sizes. Prices in different regions of Poland are very similar. The producer price is from 0.65 (0.17 €) to 0.70 PLN (0.18 €)/kg for apples of apples size 75 + and from 0.70 (0.18 €) to 0.80 PLN (0.21 €)/kg for apples 80 +.

2010-03-18 | High prices of imported lettuces

Last weeks one could observe higher than usual prices of imported lettuces. And apparently this is not the end of the upward trend, especially as regards Spanish Iceberg lettuce. On Wednesday, March 17, the wholesale price of this lettuce was even 65 PLN (16.80 €)/box 10 pcs.

2010-03-18 | Stable prices of cauliflowers imported from France

So far, prices of imported cauliflowers are stable in contrast to prices of other imported vegetables, which have been in upward trend for a long time. Prices of cauliflowers are always high during winter time and the their supply is not large. The price of cauliflower imported from France remained stable at the level 5.00-6.50 PLN (1.29-1.68 €)/pcs.

2010-03-17 | Spanish sweet pepper will be very expensive
Heavy snowfall which hit Southern Europe last week caused further damages to vegetables crops in Spain. The supply of Spanish red pepper significantly decreased, and as it was expected it resulted in large increase in prices of pepper. The price rose by 8 PLN (2.06 €) per carton 5 kg at least week-on week.

2010-03-17 | Sight increase in prices of broccoli from Italy
Winter in Italy was less hard than in Spain and as a result prices of vegetables imported from Italy are generally much more stable than those imported from Spain. Prices of broccoli illustrate it well. Price of Italian broccoli increased week-on-week but the increase was not sharp.

2010-03-16 | Decrease in export of white cabbage
Quantity of white cabbage, which is exported to the Russian market decreased quite significantly. It resulted in price decrease. Some trading companies still maintain prices at the level of 0.80 PLN (0.20 €)/kg, but they require only the best quality cabbage.
